Excellent food, great service at a fair price! Our go-to Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe. Da hello to Jorge and his great staff!

The food! It's about the food!!! I don't want to tell you about the flan... but it's how you should start and finish your meal. I've yet to hit an entre that I would rate less than an 8.5 out of 10. My favorite is the carne adobada with the chile rellenos as a very close second. My wife is a vegetarian, bless her heart, and her favorite dish is the rellenos. I'm hungry and this review isn't helping. If I lived in Santa Fe, that

We have been trying to work our way through many of the eateries in Santa Fe for years now and being the next one on our list The Pecos Trail Cafe did not disappoint. The spousal unit ordered the quesadilla plate with chicken and commented that it was one of the better quesadillas she has had. I chose the Las Vegas combination plate due to the chile relleno. The relleno was one of the more "authentic" ones I have eaten. The beef enchilada was pretty much okay. The red chile was on the mild side, but both were flavorful. Our waiter, Jorge, was a pleasure to interact with and very professional. Overall, the service was excellent. The rice and beans did not shine but both were tasty. The only thing left on my plate was the stem from the chile. Nearly a perfect lunch washed down with a Nut Brown Ale.

It's very clean and I love the roses on the tables. The decor is southwestern and not tacky. I am always envious of Saltillo tile floors. The staff is very attentive and I had a great conversation with the new server. The food was great and the only drawback was the upcharge for using credit. My husband hates that and wishes they would just include it in the price and maybe give a discount for cash. Everything was really good.

Let's start by saying...AMAZING! It's been several years since I've been here, because, well, the food was just alright, not bad but, in a city that majors on restaurants, you have to do something to stand above the rest. Pecos Trail Cafe has done that! From the moment I walked in everything was class A! Friendly greeters and excellent waitstaff. The menu is very unique; it'll take several visits now to really get the full experience! My choice was the Flameado; it was a large rib eye with charro beans and sweet corn cake. I would say it was all amazing, but after a margarita and a rum and coke, maybe I'm exaggerating...nah, it was good! This was a Saturday, so they have a guitarist that plays and sings old '70's tunes - he was wow! So fun to hear all those oldies while eating a good meal. If you're looking for a restaurant with a wonderful, and a bit different, menu, good atmosphere, and live music, you need to check this place out! Ohhh, and I had the flan for dessert!

After a wonderful visit to the International Folk Art museum, Joe and I were looking for a late lunch. Not knowing where to go, we just set off for Albuquerque and saw this on the way. We pulled in and parked. I was less-than-enthusiastic, given the outside of the building. Inside, we were warmly greeted and asked if we preferred a booth or a table. Opting for a table, we were seated on the far side of the restaurant. It gave me a good view of the restaurant. The ceiling looked like corrugated metal, covered with what looks like stucco. In the center, there are a few booths with walls connected to a beam. The short walls look like driveway gates (maybe they were.) So, not the most architectually interesting place, but clean and pleasant. Joe ordered the flautas, with just rice, no beans. The flautas were perfectly cooked. It came with a delicious guacamole. (I got to eat it, since Joe is not a fan.) He ate everything on his plate. He did, however, ask for a bit of salsa to go with it. I asked for the chiles rellenos plate. The chiles were stuffed with cheese and had a cornmeal breading. They were delicious. The beans were just ok. I tasted a little of the rice, but it didn't do anything for me. Our waiter was pleasant, switching back and forth between English for Joe and Spanish with me. When we paid, we discussed the heat in Palm Springs. His experience in my part of the world was tough! There are some interesting post cards for sale, near the register.
